A5 Motorway (60 km)

In March 2009, VINCI Concessions signed a concession agreement for a 60 km section of the A5 motorway, between Malsch and Odenburg, in south-west Germany. The project involves upgrading the existing motorway (including 41.5 km to be widened to 2x3 lanes) and operation for a period of 30 years. The concessionaire's remuneration is calculated as a function of HGV traffic (over 12 tonnes) – with tolls collected via the Toll Collect satellite system. This contract is one of four pilot projects launched by the German government as part of the first phase of the A-Modell programme and the second won by VINCI after the A4 Gotha-Eisenach.
