Maliakos–Kleidi motorway

Aegean Motorway, the consortium in which VINCI Concessions has a 13.75% interest, won the 30-year concession for a 230 km section between Maliakos and Kleidi, i.e. the northern part of the Athens–Thessalonica motorway. The concession contract was signed and ratified by the Greek parliament in 2007, approved by the European Union in January 2008 and came into force on 5 March 2008. In addition to modernising and upgrading the 230 km section to motorway standard, the contract calls for building three tunnels totalling 11 km in the Tembi Valley. The work will take 48 months to complete.
