The contract signed by VINCI Concessions includes the design, fitting out, operation and financing of an urban tunnel in Marseilles. The original tunnel has been extended by building a second underground structure, the Louis Rège Tunnel.
This structure, which was officially opened on 4 June 2007, comprises two superposed motorway tunnels and makes it easier to cross the city. On 22 June 2007, a new record was set when almost 60,000 vehicles used the tunnel.
