At the beginning of December 2017, Synerail, a company in which VINCI Concessions and VINCI Energies hold a 30% stake, carried out the definitive switchover of GSM-R operations to 16,000 km of rail lines in France.

This safer and more efficient radiocommunication system enables railway agents to communicate with traffic control stations, and drivers and maintenance officers to communicate with each other by conference call.
Following the completion of the construction of the entire GSM-Rail network in March 2016, this latest changeover will complete the gradual commissioning of the new system, as well as the training time for SNCF Réseau staff.
Axians (VINCI Energies) will maintain 40% of the network over the next eight years.
