Pex, VINCI Highways' electronic toll collection subsidiary, is innovating by deploying Peru's first multimodal interoperability of electronic toll collection as payment systems with Real Plaza, the country's leading shopping centre chain.

Drivers can now use their electronic toll badges as a means of payment in Real Plaza car parks in Lima. This initiative makes the customer experience more fluid and enriches it, with Pex subscribers being free to leave the car parks without having to queue up for payment modules. By the end of 2019, Real Plaza plans to carry out 15% of transactions via this new interoperability, and aims to achieve a rate of 50% in 5 years. Since the acquisition of Pex at the end of 2016, VINCI Highways has recorded a growth of more than 100% in the number of its electronic toll collection subscribers in Peru. The development of electronic toll collection is in line with the objective of making traffic on the Lima’s express ways, for which VINCI Highways is a concessionaire, more fluid and safe.
