Rhônexpress, a subsidiary of VINCI Railways (VINCI Concessions), is celebrating its 10 millionth passenger in December. Linking the centre of Lyon to Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (operated by VINCI Airports) and the high-speed rail station, Rhônexpress symbolises the journey’s start for the many passengers who have taken it since it came into service. The Rhônexpress teams have dedicated this celebration to mobility and travel. Between 5 December and the end of January, a Rhônexpress train will be decorated with the message “Un rêve, une destination, 10 millions de voyageurs” (one dream, one destination, 10 million passengers). Many events are also planned for 11 and 12 December at the Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport terminus to share this unique occasion. Reaching the 10-million milestone just eight years after being opened to traffic demonstrates the popularity of Rhônexpress, France’s first shuttle service between a city centre and the local airport.
