Adapting to the important traffic growth of the Portuguese airports (from 30 million passengers in 2012 to more than 55 million in 2018), VINCI Airports announced a 15M€ investment for Porto airport. This announcement was made in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructures and Housing of Portugal, Pedro Nuno Santos, and CEO of VINCI Concessions and President of VINCI Airports, Nicolas Notebaert. Nicolas Notebaert stated “VINCI Airports is proud to drive growth in Portugal, in particular in the popular tourist destination of Porto. Here, the airport has hit the highest level of growth since we invested in ANA in 2013 – in just six years, traffic has doubled from 6 million passengers to 12 million, therefore we decided to invest in the airport to enhance Porto region development.”

This new investment will support Porto airport’s growth and will enhance Porto region development while offering continuously improved services to passengers.

In 2018, Porto airport welcomed 11.9 million passengers, a figure that represents a strong increase of 10.7% and developed new routes and new commercial offers. Airports Council International (ACI) has awarded Porto airport as "the best European Airport in the 5 to 15 million passenger category".
