New section delivered on the A7-2 in Germany

May 3, 2021

The German subsidiary of VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions) Via Niedersachsen has delivered a new 2 km section of motorway, completely renovated and widened to a third lane, in the direction of Hanover.

A further 1.5 km section in the same direction is scheduled to come into service in May. This will include 1.3 km of noise barriers. Work to upgrade the sections in the other direction will begin the following day.

By modernising and widening this strategic route linking Bavaria to the Port of Hamburg, these works, carried out in synergy with Eurovia, will enable the motorway to continue to play its full role as a catalyst for the German economy during the post-Covid economic recovery. The A7 Bockenem-Göttingen is a strategic European corridor. It links Bavaria, Germany’s economic hub, to the Port of Hamburg, a gateway to the world. VINCI Highways’ mission is clear: to offer the best safety and quality standards in the world to a road that is vital to the German economy.
