eMagThe VIA Esperanza initiative celebrates its first anniversary
In Colombia, on the VIA 40 highway, a project full of hope and solidarity; it has been one year since the VIA Esperanza initiative started accompanying thousands of refugees every month fleeing the severe economic and political crisis in Venezuela.
This initiative, held by VINCI Highways, has made it its primary focus to guarantee the safety of these refugees, walking along the Bogotá-Girardot highway. They can find a place to rest, hydrate and receive essential information regarding their journey. It is also a means to perpetuate human contact full of solidarity for them, which can be rare along the way. For the youngest, there is also a baby changing station, a mobile library where they pick up any book they like, and a coloring area for the most creative souls!
